The aim of this scenario is to introduce 12-13 year old students to the concept of probability through a simulation using an arduino microcontroller. The students will experiment to realize the difference between a random experiment and a deterministic experiment. They will experimentally calculate the probability of equally likely and non-equally likely events using the law of large numbers. They will have the opportunity to observe and adjust the arduino code during the execution of the experiment.en_US

OutcomeAt the end of this section, students will know/be able to: understand the difference between a deterministic and a chance experiment calculate empirically the probability of an event occurring using the law of large numbers. understand the difference between equally likely events and non equally likely events. recognize a basic arduino circuit (with leds and switches) understand the code of an arduino circuit and make changes on it simulate an arduino circuit (or assemble it)en_US
