Maintaining and promoting health is a social right of all citizens. Prerequisites for achieving this goal are rational nutritional consciousness and adoption of a healthier lifestyle from an early age. Health, however, is not only physical but also mental. Eating disorders are diseases that connect the physical with the mental dimension of health. They constitute a rather complex condition of disturbed eating behaviour, which usually develops over a long period of time and has quite important and serious implications, both in the functionality and health of individuals, as well as in their quality of life. In particular, in the context of the implementation of Sustainable Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), which can be characterized as one of the most important goals of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (17 Sustainable Development Goals), the commitment of EU Member States to the fight against the most important diseases related to nutrition but also mental health as well as the improvement of citizens’ quality of life, are a political priority.en_US
